CEI are privileged to run supplementary classes in the subjects of Mathematics, English and Islamic Studies for children between the ages of 7 – 16yrs.

Currently, CEI runs 12 week terms which consist of a mid term activity session, an end of term examination and a final parent’s consultation session where parents have the opportunity to review test results and speak with the individual teachers to discuss the progress of their child.

The classes are divided into children of similar age and or academic ability where each class consists of a maximum of 20 children. Many sessions are smaller in number which allows the children to benefit from close contact tutoring. Each Saturday is divided into one 35 minute session for each of the three subjects, Maths, English and Islamic Studies.

There are currently 9 teachers and we have access to six classrooms. All of our teachers are CRB checked. Our intake is capped at approx 65 children.

It is at the heart of CEI that all teachers providing tuition are heavily involved in attending the CEI adult programs and continue to increase in their knowledge and spiritual growth by attending and supporting the CEI classes. We ensure all teachers are deemed proficient in teaching their subject and as is Islamic tradition, they teach only those texts and subjects which they have previously studied under a teacher.

The core teacher group work on a voluntary basis without charging for their time. The cost of the CEI Saturday Supplementary Classes ensures a minimum contribution can be made towards the venue hire, material and other adult classes. The CEI teachers are committed to CEI and contribute a fix amount in donations on a monthly basis to facilitate not only the Saturday Supplementary Classes but all other CEI programs.

Maths and English are taught using current curriculum study aides and are viewed as supplementary classes to a child’s current full time education. The Islamic Studies comprise of either an authentic text in Seerah or stories of the Prophets.
