Burhan al-Din or Burhan al-Islam al-Zarnuji (d. 602 AH/1223) was a Muslim scholar and author of the celebrated pedagogical work to be taught by Shaykh BaBikir.
Imam Zarnuji writes, ‘Man is honored with knowledge and striving. However many students gain knowledge without fulfilment and benefit because they deviate from the path and do not follow the conditions of learning. Whomsoever deviates will never reach his goal and by putting this book together I wanted to show the ways of learning as I have learnt and have been taught by people of knowledge and wisdom.’
