KIDS ACADEMY | CRAWLEY

We have been privileged to run supplementary classes in the subjects of Mathematics, English and Islamic Studies for children between the ages of 7 – 16yrs since the late 90s.

There are three terms a year, and each term consists of a mid-term activity session, an end of term examination and a final parent’s consultation session.

WHAT MAKES KIDS ACADEMY UNIQUE?

Since the late 90s, CEI have been helping children in Crawley with English, Maths and Islamic Studies.

Our teaching concept is simple but effective: children are split by their year group and are taught each subject, by a different teacher, for 40 minutes in a classroom setting.

Our teaching style is heavily exam focused, going through SATs all the way to GCSEs.

HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS

Our subject leaders are all highly qualified, having graduated from some of the UK’s top universities.

The Kids Academy is run by an Oxford University alumni (PhD), English is headed up by a qualified English teacher (MA English, King’s College London) and Mathematics is led by a Manchester University graduate (BSc Maths).

All of the teachers are volunteers, and many have come through the Kids Academy graduated from University and returned to teach and benefit others with their experience.

CLASSROOM BASED TEACHING

The classes are divided into children of similar age and or academic ability. Most classrooms are small in number allowing the children to benefit from close contact tutoring.

Each Saturday is divided into one 40 minute session for each of the three subjects, Maths, English and Islamic Studies.

All classrooms have teaching aids, such as an electronic whiteboard and a projector allowing various teaching styles for the students. The teachers rotate classrooms for each subject whilst the students stay in the same classroom.

TERMLY EXAMS

At the end of every term all of the students take an exam testing them on the material covered during that term. This gives students an opportunity to go through practice SATs papers and GCSEs.

Our lessons are exam focused, and as we are a supplementary school, we focus on rigorous exam training and our lessons are geared towards this.
