2025 - Sura Nuh (Q. 71)
The seventh annual Q-Immersion at St. John’s College, Oxford, covered Surah Nuh (Q. 71). A guided reading of the whole Surah on the first day was followed by a formal dinner at Christ Church College and ended with an opportunity for personal study. On the second day, three facilitated workshops offered the space to read, reflect upon and discuss an academic study of the Surah which attendees then presented to the wider group.
2024 - Qasas (Q. 28)
The sixth annual Q-Immersion at St. John’s College, Oxford, covered Surah Qasas (Q. 28). A guided reading of the whole Surah on the first day was followed by a formal dinner at Christ Church College and ended with an opportunity for personal study. On the second day, three facilitated workshops offered the space to read, reflect upon and discuss an academic study of the Surah which attendees then presented to the wider group.
2023 - Ya Sin (Q. 36)
The fifth annual Q-Immersion at St. John’s College, Oxford, covered Surah Ya-Sin (Q. 36). A guided reading of the whole Surah on the first day was followed by a formal dinner at Christ Church College and ended with an opportunity for personal study. On the second day, three facilitated workshops offered the space to read, reflect upon and discuss an academic study of the Surah which attendees then presented to the wider group.
2022 - Taha (Q. 20)
The fourth annual Q-Immersion at St. John’s College, Oxford, covered Surah Taha (Q. 20). A guided reading of the whole Surah on the first day was followed by a formal dinner at Keble college and ended with an opportunity for personal study. On the second day, three facilitated workshops offered the space to read, reflect upon and discuss an academic study of the Surah which attendees then presented to the wider group.
2021 - Kahf (Q. 18)
The third annual Q-Immersion at St. John’s College, Oxford, covered Surah Kahf (Q. 18). A guided reading of the whole Surah on the first day was followed by a formal dinner at Somerville college and ended with an opportunity for personal study. On the second day, three facilitated workshops offered the space to read, reflect upon and discuss an academic study of the Surah which attendees then presented to the wider group. The second annual Q-Immersion at St. John’s College, Oxford, covered Surah Mary (Q. 19). 2018 - Joseph (Q. 12)
Q-Immersion 2018 provided attendees the opportunity to spend a weekend at St. John’s college, Oxford, learning, thinking and developing their reflections on Surah Joseph (Q.12). An exposition of the whole Surah was presented on the first day which ended with a formal dinner at Sommerville college. On the second day, groups of attendees undertook facilitated workshops analysing one of three academic articles. Click on the year above for more details.
