ONLINE RAMADAN | 2026
This Ramadan, Q-Institute presents a focused four-part Sunday short course designed to place the Qur’an, both in understanding and veneration, at the very centre of the believer’s Ramadan experience.
The programme uniquely integrates two complementary dimensions of Qur’anic engagement. Each weekly session is divided into two interconnected halves, with two different teachers covering each of the topics below:

The first half of these weekly session delivers a structured tafsir of Q. 87 Sura al-Aʿla, exploring its themes, progression, and coherence.
Sura Al-Aʿla occupies a distinctive place in the Prophetic practice.
The Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ consistently selected this sura for the largest and most public congregational prayers, the Friday prayer and the two ʿEid prayers, highlighting its thematic centrality and spiritual weight.
Al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr (raḍiyallāhu ʿanhu) reported:
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite in the two ʿEid prayers and in the Friday prayer:
‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High’ (Q. 87:1) and
‘Has there come to you the news of the Overwhelming?’ (Q. 88:1).”
The second half of these weekly sessions engages classical spiritual reflection through Imam al-Ghazālī’s work, led by guest scholars, focusing on the merit of the Qur’an, the rank of its people, and the responsibility of engaging with it attentively and reverently.
To complement tafsīr, the programme draws on Book 8 of Imam al-Ghazālī’s Iḥyāʾ, titled Kitāb Ādāb Tilāwat al-Qurʾān (The Book on the Proper Conduct of Reciting the Qur’an). This work occupies a foundational position in the Islamic spiritual canon, as it systematically addresses how the Qur’an is to be approached, recited, and internalised.
Imam al-Ghazālī structures this book into four chapters. This year, the programme intentionally focuses on Chapter One.
Chapter One sets the spiritual and moral foundation for Qur’anic engagement, combining prophetic praise of the Qur’an with warnings against neglect.
Especially in Ramadan, it invites reverence, reflection, and responsibility, linking Sura al-Aʿla’s tafsir to mindful conduct.
There will be four weekly sessions on Sura al-Aʿla & Ghazali’s book of Qur’an, covering Allah’s glorification, the Qur’an’s merit, remembrance, and its structure, with prophetic guidance and reminders.
