Online registration is compulsory and attendance is required in order to progress to the second session.
Session 1: Thursday 16th April 2026. 8:00–10:00pm.
This session will be held online on zoom.
This session introduces the role of Q-Workshops within CEI programmes and situates them alongside Q-Immersion and other workshop-based formats.
Students are guided through how workshops are designed and delivered, with a clear explanation of the preparation process, presentation requirements, and how feedback is structured.
The session also outlines the assessment expectations, ensuring that all participants understand what is required moving forward.
A key part of the session focuses on the internal structure of a CEI workshop.
Students are introduced to the process of engaging with academic reading, developing ideas into structured activities, and facilitating discussion.
This includes understanding how to design an effective warm-up, how to build a main activity, and how to create an environment that encourages participation and reflection.
Following the session, students begin their preparation for the in-person presentations.
This includes engaging with an assigned academic text, developing a workshop based on that reading, and preparing a short presentation that communicates their ideas clearly and concisely within the given time and slide limits.
By the end of the session, students will have a clear understanding of how CEI workshops operate, what is expected of them during the preparation phase, and how to approach the in-person presentation with confidence and structure.
