PAST Q-IMMERSION

2018 – Joseph (Q. 12)

Burdah

Q-Immersion 2018 provided attendees the opportunity to spend a weekend at St. John’s college, Oxford, learning, thinking and developing their reflections on Surah Joseph (Q.12). An exposition of the whole Surah was presented on the first day which ended with a formal dinner at Sommerville college. On the second day, groups of attendees undertook facilitated workshops analysing one of three academic articles.

SUMMARY OF SURA JOSEPH

The Qur’anic story of Joseph peace be upon him is unique in that his story is presented as a continuous uninterrupted chronological narrative in only one Sura (Q. 12) of the Qur’an. The following is very brief overview of the Sura.
