KEY STAGE 1 -3

At KS1 & KS2 level the curriculum is designed to help students in their SATS assessments, focusing on reading comprehension, writing ability and grammar skills (SPaG).

For KS3 we build on the knowledge they would have learnt in KS1 and KS2 and design lessons according to the AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEB assessment objectives so that students have a solid foundation for their GCSE examinations at KS4 level.

GCSEs

At KS4 level our focus is on ensuring that students achieve the best possible results in their final GCSE examination.

We focus on teaching students the necessary methods and techniques to help them in their final exams.

We also cover core literary texts such as Shakespeare, 19th century British novels and Poetry, all of which are necessary for student’s English education.

END OF TERM EXAMS

At the end of every term we set an exam, and all students are expected to sit these in full exam conditions. This allows the students to improve their exam techniques, learn the importance of time keeping and it also provides the teachers with the opportunity to identify areas of weakness and provide feedback.
