LONDON SHORT COURSE

Every term CEI hosts a short course in central London. Since 2014 these weekly short courses have provided students with an exciting opportunity to study various classical texts and traditional commentaries.

Over the years we have facilitated courses on texts authored by Imam al-Ghazali, Imam al-Haddad as well as many innovative short courses on the Qur’an, Prayer, Ramadhan and the Prophetic Sciences.

TWO SHORT SESSIONS

Two hours each evening split into two 60 minutes sessions, delivered by two different teachers in a theatre style classroom.

There is a break between the two sessions, and this ensures that students get exposure to two different teaching styles, and more importantly, the change over helps with concentration and provides focused learning.

The London Short Course require students to commit to one term of study at a time: two hours one evening a week for six to eight weeks.

The programme is held on a Monday evening and attendees are provided with an opportunity to delve into a topics and or classical texts that may have not been accessible to them previously.

COURSE MATERIAL

A bespoke student pack is usually provided for all attendees to aid them throughout the sessions.

The pack includes a breakdown of the sessions along with the course material, such as the Arabic and English translations of the sura or verses to be covered.

The course material enables students to follow through with what each teacher is discussing, take notes and then go over these notes before and after the sessions.

The London Short Course is held in central London (Euston) on a Monday evening. The venue is easily accessible and located in the heart of Bloomsbury near many academic institutions, such as UCL and SOAS.

Venue: the Wesley Conference Centre (MIC), 81-103 Euston Street, London (Euston) NW1 2EZ

Timings: 6:30pm–9pm, Mondays
