Q-Masterclass is a new format for Qur’anic engagement that presents material and analysis through two complementary lenses and opens conversations between Qx teaching and its academic roots.
In this session we will cover Sura Fajr (Q. 89). Prof. Haleem will present the salient points from his article on Sura Fajr, published in the Journal of Qur’anic studies.
Attendance will be both in person as well as online.

Details– Dr Ashraf and an invited expert will deliver a guided reading of the sura, explore its contents and context and an invited academic and teacher will present their work highlighting themes addressed by the Sura.
– An opportunity for in depth study of the key concepts of a single Sura, the Sura itself and its structure over a single afternoon.
– People who have attended or wanted to attend Qx programmes, such as Q-Club & Q-Connect, and want to delve deeper into Qur’anic Studies
– Those who want to seriously engage the Qur’an and be exposed to people who have spent decades studying and teaching the Qur’an presenting their work to a non-academic audience
– A willingness and desire to engage with the Qur’an; Knowledge of Arabic is not mandatory.
– The format allows for accessible, thorough, approachable, unique exposure to a range of Qur’anic material

EXCLUSIVE CONVERSATION WITH PROF. HALEEM & DR. ASHRAF
CEI was thrilled to host an exclusive evening of conversation with Professor MAS Abdel Haleem, SOAS Professor of Islamic Studies and world-renowned English translator of the Qur’an, alongside Dr. Ashraf, founder of CEI, Qur’an scholar, and former student of Professor Abdel Haleem.
DIVING INTO THE OCEAN OF THE QUR’AN
This event was a rare opportunity to directly hear Professor Abdel Haleem share his experiences, with the famous author known to seldom conduct live interviews.
In this intimate event, you would have heard from the Professor directly, and will have a chance to directly ask him your questions on navigating the oceans of the Qur’an. Topics will include the origins of the author’s connection with the Qur’an, his experiences and challenges in connecting the sacred text with millions of readers in the English-speaking world.
