TRAVEL

1. Where will the coach depart from:?

There will be the following two departure points:

1.  Friends House, London, NW1 2BJ (Coach collection/drop off will be Endsleigh Gardens) at 9.00am.

2. The Maidstone pick-up point will be from Roadchef Maidstone M20, Maidstone, ME17 1SS at 11:15am.

All participants are advised to arrive well in advance as the coach will leave promptly on time and will not wait for those running late.

Attendees will need to specify their departure point in the registration form. Please note departure and drop off point will need to be the same.

2. Parking

There is usually parking space available on the streets surrounding Friends House if you plan to arrive by car. Be sure to check signs for any parking restrictions. The departure point is within the ULEZ, so please be aware of this. Parking on the Euston Station side is outside the congestion zone but within ULEZ.

Parking at  Roadchef Maidstone M20, Maidstone ME17 1SS is available for a fee (£20 for one day).

3. Can I arrange my own transport?

Due to logistical concerns and other factors on the day, this will NOT be possible. ALL participants must travel with the group by coach.

4. Where will the coach drop us off AFTER the walk and at what time?

The coaches will drop participants off at their selected pick-up location, either Friends House, Euston, NW1 2BJ, or Roadchef Maidstone M20, Maidstone ME17 1SS.

The aim is to return to London at around 10.30/11pm insha’Allah. Please note that the given times are approximations and may change depending on conditions on the day.

DURING WALK

5. Will food be served?

It is best to bring snacks along for the walk. Locally sourced fish and chips plus mushie peas will be provided after the walk. A bottle of water will be provided at the start of the walk.

There will be a coach stop en route to freshen up and pick up any refreshments.

6. What is the itinerary for the day?

The itinerary with a map of the route can be found by clicking on St Margaret’s Bay, Dover, 2024.

7. Are children allowed to attend?

There is no pushchair access on the walking route and it is therefore NOT advisable to bring young children. Older children are welcome to attend, but please note that they will be required to pay a full price ticket.

Please also note that while the walk itself is safe, the location contains some of the highest cliff edges in Britain. Children under 16 must therefore be supervised by their parent(s) or guardian(s), keeping at least 5 metres from the cliff edge at all times.

8. What do I need to bring with me on the walk?

Participants should come appropriately dressed with walking boots, trousers, a large scarf (to sit on if need be), umbrella, waterproof coat and trousers in case it rains, and a good camera!

Please note that after 18th August it will not be possible to get a refund.
