IN THE HEART OF LONDON
Located in the heart of London, the Q-Institute will be able to draw upon and contribute to the academic and literary activity in the knowledge and creative hub of the city home to the British Library, world leading research universities, global technology companies and the Knowledge Quarter.
BLOOMSBURY, EUSTON, KING’S CROSS
The Knowledge Quarter is the focal point for one of the greatest knowledge clusters anywhere in the world, located in a small area around King’s Cross, the Euston Road and Bloomsbury. Knowledge resources ranging from the world’s earliest books and manuscripts to the latest creative designs and cutting-edge scientific and medical research are all within a few hundred metres.
THE QUR’ANIC IMPERATIVE
The Messenger of Allah blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, said: “The best of you is he who learns the Qur’an and teaches it.” And he also said: “Allah has family from among mankind.” The Companions asked: “Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied: “The people of the Qur’an; they are the people of Allah and His elect.”
The Qur’an mandates reflection and demands that its audience seriously engages with it, not simply read it.
Our predecessors worked tirelessly to establish mosques and Qur’an literacy schools up and down the country.
It now falls upon our generation to build upon their hard work by establishing institutions that can produce skilled contributors to the current challenges and debates of our time and make a meaningful contribution to the wider society.
READ TO REFLECT
The first command in the first revealed verse of the Qur’an was to ‘Read’, however, the subsequent verses require that the reader moves on from reading the Qur’an to reflecting and contemplating it.
Reflection, contemplation and interaction with the Qur’an yields cumulative benefits and is a lifelong process.
IMPACTING HEARTS
Q. 47:24 highlights the need to contemplate the Qur’an in a deep and profound way: ‘Will they not contemplate the Qur’an, or do they have locks on their hearts?’
The Prophets have disseminated the word of God to us, and we are tasked with the same responsibility. As a community we have failed to do this in any meaningful and impactful way.
The Q-Institute aims to readdress this and put the Qur’an front and centre.
TWO DECADES OF CONSISTENT GROWTH
Over the past two decades we have delivered thousands of classes as part of our portfolio of Qur’anic and Islamic educational activity across premium educational venues in and around the Knowledge Quarter, Central London.
The Q-Institute is now the necessary next step which will allow us to achieve financial independence, develop and enrich our current content, broaden the scope of our work and further widen access to the Qur’an.
