This course will introduce the style and composition of the Qur’an by studying the well known sura, Sura Ya Sin. During this course we will look at the linguistic and thematic features of the sura.
This course will provide an insight into the Prophetic existence and its various spheres enabling one to relate to the Prophet (S) on a personal level, identifying with his day to day conduct as well as the various trials, situations, and circumstances he (S) dealt with and the parallels to be found therein for oneself.
Imam Nawawi’s 40 collection is from amongst the most famous of this genre and the chosen traditions have been described by religious scholars as being the “axis of Islam” or “half of Islam” or “the third of [Islam]”. During this course, we will study the forty hadith collection by Imam Nawawi.
Dr Akram Nadwi will guide us through the main themes and concepts contained in this Meccan Sura, and the lessons that we can learn from it.
This course is an exposition of The Book of Assistance, a classic text that serves as a practical guide for spiritual self-improvement. The author summarises the various stages and milestones of the spiritual path into 32 short chapters, covering topics including good character, love of God and more.
Shaykh Babikir will cover the chapter on Remembrance (Dhikr) in Ghazali’s ‘The Forty Principles of the Religion’ ‘The Forty Principles of the Religion’ (al-Arbaʿīn fī Uṣūl al-Dīn). This book is a summary of perhaps his most famous work, the Ihya Ulum al-Din.
