Q-IMMERSION
ANNUAL WEEKEND RETREAT | UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD
Q-Immersion (QI) is our annual weekend retreat at the University of Oxford aimed at students looking to deepen and enrich their understanding of the Qur’an. Each year we study one sura. The weekend comprises tafsir, lectures, formal dinner, workshops and a Qur’an Khatum.

Q-READ
COMMUNAL SILENT READING OF THE QUR’AN
Join CEI for an afternoon honouring the life and legacy of Dr Hassan Burhan. The gathering is shaped around what mattered most to him: recitation of the Qur’an, sincere reflection, and the company of those he loved and served.
We will open with Q-Read, a communal English reading of the Qur’an, followed by a dua for Dr Hassan and those who have passed. This is the heart of the day. From there, we move into reflections: personal tributes from those who knew him and worked alongside him, an open floor for brief contributions, and a considered account of the vision he leaves behind. We will close the event together over food.

Alhamdulillah — in just a year and a half, your duas, dedication and generosity have made this possible. The building is secured!
📍 3 Crane Street, off Fleet Street — in the heart of central London, steps from St Paul's Cathedral. The Qur'an, front and centre, in one of the most significant cities in the world.
💫 Hundreds gave, prayed and believed – thank you! A Qur'an library, teaching rooms, research facilities, a members' lounge, a café — a home for serious, accessible engagement with the Qur'an, for generations to come.
💭 But the vision is only just beginning. We now need to repay our outstanding loan and fit out the space to open its doors fully.
🌱 How you can help:
1️⃣ Open our Doors — Donate to our JustGiving page and help us get classes running in the new building by next academic term.
2️⃣ Your Name, Your Sura — Our 114 Qur'an Donor Wall: 114 tiles, one per Sura, each permanently paired with its donors' names. [Launching soon!]
3️⃣ Your Name in Stone — For the most significant gifts: a name inscribed into a permanent plaque in the very architecture of The Q-Institute.
💚 Every pound brings The Q-Institute closer to standing fully on its own feet — fully paid for, sustainable, and serving generations after us. This is Sadaqah Jariyah in its clearest form.
