![THE ACCEPTED DUA
The context of this prayer in the Quran is Prophet Abraham and Ishmael (AS) building the Kaba in Mecca.
Abraham said, ‘My Lord, make this land secure and provide with produce those of its people who believe in God and the Last Day.’ God said, ‘As for those who disbelieve, I will grant them enjoyment for a short while and then subject them to the torment of the Fire- an evil destination.’ (126)
As Abraham and Ishmael built up the foundations of the House [they prayed], ‘OUR LORD, ACCEPT [THIS] FROM US. YOU ARE THE ALL HEARING, THE ALL KNOWING. (127)
Our Lord, make us devoted to You; make our descendants into a community devoted to You. Show us how to worship and accept our repentance, for You are the Ever Relenting, the Most Merciful. (128)
Our Lord, make a messenger of their own rise up from among them, to recite Your revelations to them, teach them the Scripture and wisdom, and purify them: You are the Mighty, the Wise.’ (129)

![THE NIGHT OF GLORY - LAYLATUL QADR.
We sent it (the Qur’an) down on the Night of Glory.
What will explain to you what that Night of Glory is?
The Night of Glory is better than a thousand months;
on that night the angels and the Spirit descend again and again with their Lord’s permission on every task; [there is] peace that night until the break of dawn.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, Whoever prays on Laylatul Qadr out of faith and sincerity, shall have all their past sins forgiven, (Hadith, Bukhari and Muslim).

![OH LORD, MAKE US GOOD EXAMPLES.
[The servants of the Lord of Mercy are] those who do not give false testimony, and who, when they see some frivolity, pass by with dignity;
who, when reminded of their Lord’s signs, do not turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to them;
those who pray, ‘Our Lord, give us joy in our spouses and offspring. Make us good examples to those who are aware of You.’
These servants will be rewarded with the highest place in Paradise for their steadfastness. There they will be met with greetings and peace.
