(1) Can I organise separate accommodation and only attend the day classes on-site?
The programme has been designed as a holistic experience. Staying in college accommodation on site is an essential component of this experience and for this reason, we are not able to accept any applications to attend only the day classes or attendees that would like to organise their own accommodation.
(2) Are there any rooms available for couples or families?
There are no specific rooms for couples, families or children. Couples can reserve two separate rooms and request for these two rooms to be located in close proximity to each other and we will try our best to facilitate this request, where possible. For families, under 16s cannot attend QI (see below). Any over 16s must book their own single rooms.
(3) Can I share a room?
Due to college rules, it is not possible to share a room. All attendees are therefore required to register separately. We also highly recommend attendees read the article on Saturday night, and having your own room with a desk helps facilitate this.
(1) Can children attend QI?
Unfortunately college does not allow for under 16s to attend QI. Any over 16s must book their own single rooms.
(2) What level of preparation is required to attend QI?
Whilst there are no specific knowledge requirements to attend QI, reading the sura in English (or Arabic if you can) before the weekend will be beneficial to take the most out of this experience. Everyone will be provided a hard copy of the course pack to annotate and takes notes during the weekend.
(3) What if I have specific dietary or other requirements?
We will endeavour to meet any requirements that you may have. The application form has a box to specify any dietary requirements.
(4) If I am unable to attend QI live, can I participate in the sessions online?
Due to the bespoke nature of QI, all participants are required to travel onsite to attend the sessions. There is no online component and recordings of the sessions will not be made available. It is your responsibility to attend and take diligent notes to capture the content and lessons during the weekend.
(5) Saturday Check-in
Check in is from 14:00hrs. The programme starts promptly at 09.30 on Saturday. Therefore, attendees arriving on Saturday will need to drop their bags off at a secure location between 8:00-9:00 near the conference hall (ask at registration desk for precise location).
If you are travelling from a long distance, we highly recommend that you book a two-day ticket and arrive on Friday afternoon/evening to ensure that you are refreshed and well rested before the start of the programme. Please read the information pack for full check in and check out details.
(6) Are all meals included with Q-Immersion tickets?
No, the only meals provided as part of Q-Immersion is the formal dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday morning (and Saturday if you purchase a two day ticket). For lunch, attendees are free to choose from a selection of halal eateries close to the college, please see the information pack.
