HOW IS Q-REFLECT DIFFERENT TO Q-CLUB?
A Platform for Growth and Impact: While Q-Club introduces participants to Qur’anic reflection, Q-Reflect goes further—offering a dynamic, workshop-based experience led by those who have deeply committed their time, effort, and resources to CEI programmes and to the establishment of the Q-Institute.
It serves as a platform for personal and intellectual growth, showcasing what’s possible through sustained investment. Q-Reflect invites others to join this meaningful journey, contribute to its development, and be part of a growing community that’s shaping the future of Qur’anic engagement.
1. Advanced Layer of Engagement: Q-Reflect is designed as a step up from Q-Club — moving beyond first readings to encourage re-reading, deeper engagement, and more nuanced reflection on passages already explored.
2. Focused Reflection on Familiar Passages: Participants revisit suras previously covered in Q-Club, with the benefit of time and layered exposure, leading to richer personal insights and a more profound appreciation of the Qur’an’s depth.
3. Hybrid Format – Commentary & Contemplation: Whereas Q-Club emphasises shared reading and open discussion, Q-Reflect introduces a hybrid model — combining structured insights (from lead students and Dr Ashraf) with participant-led reflections and discussion.
4. Curated Themes & Supplementary Readings: Each session revolves around a central theme explored not just through Qur’anic verses but also through classical and contemporary texts, encouraging participants to make broader connections.
5. Structured Yet Intimate: While still relaxed in tone and setting, Q-Reflect adopts a more intentional format — with a cap of 70 attendees and pre-registration — to create a more intimate space for deep thought and meaningful exchange.
6. Encouragement of Independent Study: Participants are invited to spend a full month reflecting on the selected passage ahead of time, helping to cultivate a habit of private Qur’anic reflection as preparation for communal dialogue.
7. Development Pathway: Regular Q-Club and Qx participants are given the opportunity to step into roles as lead students — introducing passages and contributing personal insights — further deepening their engagement and confidence in articulating Qur’anic themes.
8. Group Reflections & Discussions: Drawing upon the experience gained in Q-Immersion, and working closely with Dr Saquab, lead students will design and implement workshops to facilitate the Group Reflections & Discussions.
