Q-Quiz is a relaxing and light-hearted evening to engage and reflect on the Quran.
Location and Logistics
📍 Where? Grounded Cafe Bow , 90, 92 Bow Rd, Bow, London E3 3AA
🕖 When? 6.30pm-9.00pm. Registration opens at 6.30pm, Quiz starts 7pm sharp, Wednesday the 29th of April 2026.
👤 Who? Everyone!
Nearest Stations:
Bow Church DLR station (approx. 0.1 miles) and is also very close to Bow Road Tube station (District/H&C lines,approx. 0.2 miles), which is only a few minutes’ walk away.
All proceeds will go towards building the Q-Institute – a state-of-the-art research facility on the Qur’an in the centre of London! Bringing the Qur’an to the heart of London.
* All questions are in English.
There are local prayer facilities /sites for brothers and sisters within walking distance at Dar Al-Arqam.
CEI is thrilled to announce the launch of Q-Fusion at a collaborative event with Kismet Café. Q-Fusion aims to present Qur’anic exegesis alongside Islamic Arts. Dr Ashraf will discuss how the Qur’an illuminates life and Prof. Dr. Ćazim Hadžimejlić will illustrate how the pages of the Book are illuminated.

Q-Fusion brings together deep Qur’anic reflection with creative expression. Rooted in reverence for and deep understanding of the Qur’an, Q-Fusion will combine Qur’anic exegesis with an exposition of the Arts inspired by the Qur’an’s timeless message. All proceeds from Q-Fusion events will support the foundation of the Q-Institute.
Q-Fusion aims to nurture reflection, spark dialogue, and celebrate the beauty and depth of the Qur’anic message in a way that transcends age, culture and geography. It is open to all who wish to connect more deeply with the Qur’an.
Q-Masterclass is a new format for Qur’anic engagement that presents material and analysis through two complementary lenses and opens conversations between Qx teaching and its academic roots.
In this session we will cover Sura al-Hadid (Q. 57). Prof. Haleem will present the salient points from his article on Sura al-Hadid, published in the Journal of Qur’anic studies.
Attendance will be both in person as well as online.

Q-Quiz is a relaxing and light-hearted evening to engage and reflect on the Quran. For CEI regulars, it’ll be an informal opportunity to see how much you’ve learnt over the course of your studies with us. (And an opportunity to unleash your competitive side too!)

DetailsThe Q-Run is an opportunity for us to come together as a community to raise funds for the Q-Institute while enjoying a scenic 10km Hyde Park run. Join us on the 28th of June for two loops around one of London’s most iconic venues!

Donate– Dr Ashraf and an invited expert will deliver a guided reading of the sura, explore its contents and context and an invited academic and teacher will present their work highlighting themes addressed by the Sura.
– An opportunity for in depth study of the key concepts of a single Sura, the Sura itself and its structure over a single afternoon.
CEI was thrilled to host an exclusive evening of conversation with Professor MAS Abdel Haleem, SOAS Professor of Islamic Studies and world-renowned English translator of the Qur’an, alongside Dr. Ashraf, founder of CEI, Qur’an scholar, and former student of Professor Abdel Haleem.

-This event was a rare opportunity to directly hear Professor Abdel Haleem share his experiences, with the famous author known to seldom conduct live interviews.
– In this intimate event, you would have heard from the Professor directly, and will have a chance to directly ask him your questions on navigating the oceans of the Qur’an. Topics will include the origins of the author’s connection with the Qur’an, his experiences and challenges in connecting the sacred text with millions of readers in the English-speaking world.
