MARY (Q. 19)

“Mention in the Qur’an the story of Mary. She withdrew from her family to a place in the east and secluded herself away…” (Q. 19:17-18).

This year, Q-Club will read chapter 19 of the Qur’an, which is named after Mary, the mother of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon on them both). Compiled of 98 verses, the chapter focuses on the miraculous births of Jesus and John the Baptist emphasising the divine nature of both. The chapter also references the stories of other prophets including, among others, Abraham, Moses, Ismael, Isaac, and Adam (peace be upon on them all).

Attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of the chapter which will examine the prophetic stories through the lens of different themes including the importance of faith, patience, and remaining steadfast in good actions. The chapter highlights the importance of sincere prayer, observing patience through difficulties and learning the divine response to refuting false accusations.

7pm-8.30pm. Queue opens at 6.30pm.
